A Cased Set of Four Antique Silver Salts & Spoons : Birmingham 1895. DETAIL: The'Salts' have the following features. Set on three mounted cabriole hooved feet. Housed in an octagonal blue velvet and satin lined case. Original spoons with gilded bowls and stylised handles.
Genuine antiques at 123 years old. Fred Thorns is the only maker's mark I can find for FT, though he is more associated with watchmaking. I have a feeling this is an individual mark for Frederick Thomasan, of Hilliard & Thomasan fame. Birmingham, 1895 (all eight pieces have conforming hallmarks).
