Vintage Set of 4 Danish Bernhard Hertz Solid Silver Salt Cellars & Spoons retailed by A Dragsted A stunning set of 4 salt cellars made prior to 1915 by Bernhard Hertz and retailed by A Dragsted. They are a set of four matching cellars though two are original and two have been made at a later date as they must have been lost.
The original two ones have 826S stamped to their base meaning they are an unusual grade of silver generally made before 1915. These two also have makers mark'BH'. The third cellar is stamped 830S with makers mark'BH' (so made by same jeweller Bernhard Hertz at a later date). The fourth cellar is stamped 833 and has a feather hallmark. The glass liners are all very similar though one has a small chip to its lip. One spoon is missing though there is an English silver spoon included (hallmarked Atkin Brothers, Sheffield, 1906) The other spoons all match, two are hallmarked 826 and one is hallmarked 833. The silver cellars are in great condition with minor age related wear that does not detract from its overall presentation or use, some minor tarnishing in places The original box is lovely and in very good condition with minimal wear. The cellars with liners fitted measure approximately 3cm high by 4.5cm diameter.
They weigh individually between 18 and 20 grammes The case measures approx 14cm by 14cm by 6cm high Please view photos carefully as they form part of the description Please view my other listings.
